A Manger for Baby Jesus

What is the heart of Christmas? Welcoming Jesus into our family once again!

For the last few years during Advent the parish hosted a crafts day for children to make figures of Baby Jesus for Christmas.

For the first time this Christmas each family in our parish will receive a figure of Baby Jesus to welcome into their home. When Jesus was born the Holy Family could not find a place to stay. We would like each family to prepare a place for Jesus in their home by making a manger with their children. We invite one of your children to bring this manger to Christmas Mass to receive Baby Jesus. This way each family can prepare a place in their home for Jesus.

The parish is posting on it’s website and on Facebook one simple idea for making a manger. But of course many designs are possible using materials such as egg cartons, butter cartons etc. The manger needs to big enough for a 3inch figure of Baby Jesus.

It is so important that your family can share fully in this special celebration by preparing a Welcome Manger for Baby Jesus. Please bring it with you to Christmas Mass.
